When Hellmann first opened its branch in Nowy Tomyśl in 1997, the geographical location was the main deciding factor, as it is conveniently situated along the long-distance route between Berlin and Warsaw, not far from the German-Polish border. Today Nowy Tomyśl is a hub in the Hellmann network for national and international transport from general cargo to full loads. Additionally, Hellmann is operating its own customs agency and an intermediate warehouse at the branch.

On this basis, Hellmann Poland has developed very dynamically in the past few decades and business volumes have increased constantly, year after year. So much so, that since 2012, the company has been able to more than double the number of branches and more than treble the volume. The company is now especially interested in investing in the expansion of its infrastructure:

To respond to increasing consumer demands, the warehouse in Stryków – near Łódź - was expanded in May, and its handling capacity was doubled. The warehouse is strategically located close to the A1 and A2 highway interchange.

In addition to this, a new airfreight office is now operating at Katowice  airport, to facilitate the development of airfreight in the south of Poland.

In July 2022, the Czeladź branch was relocated and expanded. Although the storage space may have decreased, the number of loading docks has considerably increased from 17 to 28. With this new expansion, a more professional battery charging station for fork lifts was installed and the office space for colleagues was expanded.
Two further locations are planned to be opened in the coming months.

Today Hellmann Poland offers the whole product palette, from sea- and airfreight, to contract logistics and customs solutions, as well as national and international general cargo and freight transport. Particularly worth noting is the close-knit line network that was established between the German and Polish state organizations, operating with daily round trips.
