The new terminal combines all the advantages of economic efficiency and sustainability that are attributed to combined transport: "With a single block train, we load almost 40 trucks from road to rail. With these possibilities, the CTOS is a great opportunity for both Osnabrück forwarders and shippers in the entire region.

Five block trains to Landshut and Regensburg and back have been on the schedule since the start of operations in early November. From the beginning of 2022, there will initially be three to five departures a week to the seaport terminals in Hamburg, as well as three to five more to Dresden - and back in each case. After that, the route network will be continuously expanded with further connections to Bremerhaven, Rotterdam, and Leipzig. In addition, the connection to the new Mega HUB in Lehrte is an important next step, as Dirk Baerbock reveals.

To operate the new CT facility, Hellmann had joined forces with the Osnabrück freight forwarders Nosta and Koch as CTOS (Containerterminal Osnabrück GmbH). A minority share of 49 percent in CTOS is held by Terminalbesitzgesellschaft Osnabrück (TBOS), which also includes the municipal utilities from Osnabrück and Dortmund.
