The web-based freight calculator was launched in November 2020 with the first test shipments for domestic Groupage in Germany. It has now been activated for domestic and European Groupage transports. Partial and full loads (FTL & LTL) in Direct Load are to follow soon.

Our customers can now create their own offers and book shipments for Groupage shipments and procurement logistics in the Hellmann Portal - around the clock. After entering the relevant shipment details, such as dimensions and weight, the new web tool checks existing offers and calculates the best daily rates. In addition, it provides further service and transit time options. The next-day option is particularly interesting here.

Digital shipment processing from A to Z

With the new freight calculator, we are closing the gap in our digital offering. From quoting and booking to shipment tracking (Track & Trace) and invoice processing, the entire process now takes place simply and intuitively in the Hellmann portal. The result: faster processing of shipments and greater transparency in shipment evaluation.

We are even simplifying our processes for customers without access to the portal. To this end, the booking process has been optimized in key areas. The next step will be to establish a fully automated quotation solution for daily rate customers, too.

Digitization in full swing

However, online shipment processing is just one more building block in our overarching digitization strategy. At the same time, we at Hellmann are developing many other systems that will further increase our efficiency and performance and raise data quality in order to accelerate our supply chains and ultimately further optimize the service quality of our logistics services.
