Peter Hüwel to become new Regional CEO North America

News

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has been able to gain Peter Hüwel as its new Regional CEO North America, effective January 01, 2021. Mr. Hüwel thus succeeds Steen Christensen, who leaves the company in agreement with the Management Board to take on new professional challenges. As Regional CEO North America, Steen Christensen has realigned the region since May 2017 and created a strong foundation for further growth.

In Peter Hüwel, Hellmann has gained a proven logistics expert who can look back on 27 years of experience in the freight forwarding industry. Over the past decades, he has held various management positions at Panalpina in the Americas, including Manager of various South American country organizations and Senior Vice President for the Northeast and Midwest of the USA. In his last position as Vice President at DSV, Peter Hüwel was responsible for the Tradelane development in the Air & Sea division between North and Latin America.

"We are very pleased to have gained Peter Hüwel, a proven expert of the North American logistics market, for our company. Hellmann has been established in North America for over 30 years and the region has great strategic importance and enormous potential for us, also with a view to the future. Together with Mr. Hüwel and our team in North America we intend to generate further growth within our Contract Logistics business and our Industry Solutions − above all in Healthcare Logistics. In addition, we also see great development opportunities in the North American e-commerce sector, in which we want to further expand our market share here as well",

says Reiner Heiken, Chief Executive Officer, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.
