Suez Canal Update

News

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to all the people involved in Egypt who made it happen that the Suez Canal is open for maritime traffic again and that the vessel Ever Given is now safe on anchor in the Great Bitter Lake waiting for inspection.

"Many vessels are now moving, South and Northbound, and the first vessels have already passed the Suez Canal again and are on their way to their final destination. Unfortunately, the backlog is huge and clearing it completely can take from 4 to 8 days depending on where you are in the queue. So with almost a week delay, due to the incident itself, and an additional delay clearing the backlog, in worst case some vessels will arrive approximately 2 weeks later than expected at destination",

says Michael Amri, Global Head of Sea Freight FCL.

We are real-time tracking all containers with our internal Hellmann Smart Ocean tool and our Sales and Customer Service representatives will update all our customers with the latest status on a regular basis.

In case of any question, please contact your local customer service, your Hellmann sales representative, and/or our Sea Freight Management for support.

We thank you for your understanding and cooperation during these challenging times and we look forward to working with you in the future.

Best regards,

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics
