Hellmann apprentices discuss prospects in the logistics industry with Oliver Luksic
At the new logistics facility in Völklingen in Southwest Germany, the apprentices offered a look behind the scenes and showed what logistics has to offer, especially for young employees - from stays abroad to interdisciplinary project work. The discussion focused on the question of how Germany must continue to develop as a logistics location, particularly with regard to sustainability and digitization, in order to remain fit for the future and at the same time attractive for employees in the long term. Luksic promoted the variety of apprenticeships in logistics.
"As an exporting nation in the heart of Europe, strong logistics is enormously important for our country. To remain the logistics world champion in the future, Germany needs well-trained specialists for this. These high performers of tomorrow are the basis for supply security and value creation,"
said Oliver Luksic, Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Digital Affairs and Transport.
"With more than three million employees, the logistics sector is the third-largest economic sector in Germany and not only ensures the supply of society and the economy, but also offers a very diverse - and sometimes underestimated in its importance and diversity - working environment. I am therefore very pleased that our trainees were able to show how varied, international and future-oriented our industry is in their exchange with Mr. Luksic,"
comments Sven Eisfeld, Managing Director of Hellmann in Germany.
