Wednesday, 5 p.m. - impending production downtime

We received an urgent call from our long-standing customer, a first-tier automotive supplier: A German OEM was threatened with a complete production standstill if urgently needed components from Doha were not delivered by 6.30 a.m. the next morning. Thus, our customer was facing massive contractual penalties. The challenge: The parts were already at the airport FRA, but had to be returned to Vac in Hungary for final assembly.

Wednesday, 10 p.m. - Charter plane lands in Budapest

Without further ado, we realized a secured door-to-door solution. Therefore, we chartered a Cessna F406 Caravan from Frankfurt to Budapest, arrival: 10 p.m. We then continued by truck to the production site in Vac – with an additional truck serving as a safety back-up. Within a few hours, our customer was able to successfully complete the final assembly.

Thursday, 6.20 a.m. - Arrival in Cologne

We then flew the car parts back to Frankfurt with two cargo planes at different times. As soon as the first load was completely assembled, the first machine took off - while the final assembly of the remaining parts continued. On Thursday, 6.20 a.m., the first truck from Frankfurt reached the OEM’s site in Cologne - 10 minutes ahead of schedule.
